The Fur Heart — Dënedzié, “heart” in Dënesųłiné — is made from soft wild beaver fur on both sides and filled with beaver fur inside.

Hold it in your hand, tuck it into a pocket, or attach it to your keys or a favourite bag. The dense, silky-soft fur makes it something you naturally want to touch and keep close.

For me, the Fur Heart is also a small reminder of our relationship with the natural world. Beaver fur has kept Dënesųłiné people warm on the land for generations. Here, that same natural material becomes something to hold, carry or give to someone you care about.

Each Fur Heart is handcrafted in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, and because we use wild fur, every one is naturally unique in colour and texture.

Material

Sheared wild beaver fur on both sides, filled with small pieces of beaver fur from our production process.

Each Fur Heart also has a leather loop and stainless-steel ring so it can be attached to keys or a bag.

Using the smaller pieces of fur from our production process is part of Aurora Heat’s near-zero-waste approach.

Give the fur an occasional gentle rub or shake to restore its loft.

If needed, spot clean lightly with a damp cloth and allow it to air dry naturally.

Avoid soaking, machine washing, direct heat and contact with lotions, oils or perfumes.
